Meet Vanessa & Navaeh, who's posing happily for the strangers taking the photo.
Vanessa McDonald, CTC, CSAP-BC
Hi, I’m Vanessa, and I love dogs, but I know what it’s like to feel in over your head. When I adopted my dog, Nevaeh, I thought it was going to be all fun, love and cuteness. Instead, I was faced with many behavior issues, including a fear of strangers, and was left thinking “this wasn't how it was supposed to be”. But, I decided I was going to help her!
After mucking through tons of conflicting information, I learned how to successfully change behaviors and get her over her fears, all while growing a bond that will last forever. I want to help others do the same.
I graduated with honors and hold a Certificate in Training and Counseling (CTC) from one of the top dog training programs in the world, The Academy for Dog Trainers. I’m a graduate of SA Pro Trainer program, where I furthered my education on treating separation anxiety in dogs. I stay up to date with continuing education, I hold a certificate in pet CPR and first aid, and I’m a proud member of the Pet Professionals Guild.
I’m dedicated to helping you understand your dog and achieve your goals in a way that kind and rewarding for you and your dog!
I’m a lover of all animals! My husband and I live with our awesome family; Nevaeh, our cat Silo, and our rabbit Sam.

“Vanessa was such a great help with our dog, Titan. He’s fearful of strangers and doesn’t like when new people come in the house. Vanessa helped us find a way to keep him feeling safe, then we were able to actually work with him without him going off. I didn’t think that was possible! Vanessa made things easy to understand and was kind to both us and our dog through the process! ”
